“Keep on Keepin’ Up News” is a news show that gives you the best of both worlds-the facts and the emotions (with a little bit of music for your entertainment purposes). This news show features Misty Carter (played by Imani Gooden - Love in a Different Key) and Emotica Simpson (played by Essence Mason).

On Episode 1, a man by the name of Dante has left behind his woman and a home that wasn’t really a home to begin with. As in every episode, Emotica gravitates to one side of the story and provides her truest thought and feelings.

This is the biggest cast we’ve worked with and everyone brought their A-game. There’s so much good footage to work with and we’re excited for the results. We will be sharing more photos/takes from our process up to the final (big) moment of “Old,” which we can’t wait to share. It is official. We have completed the beginning stages of “Old.” We worked with an amazing cast and crew to help bring this new mockumentary to life, and we’re so excited to be debuting a page on our official website dedicated to the film.

On this page, you will find the inspiration, the behind-the-scenes footage, and the ways you can help us see this project all the way through.

We cannot wait to share the stories from all of the *old people who we believe hold the secret to the phenomena that is: “Black don’t crack.”

It had everything to do with the combination of age and the physical, as far as I knew. 80 was up there! Today, I would be embarrassed to share that when I was younger, I thought the double-digit age I’m nearing was also pretty old. I have cousins moving much more than I do and I am just wondering, how do they even keep up with all the things? I know 80+ year-olds who are out and about, who won’t stop dancing. I say all this to say, I have no answer.

Perhaps it truly is in the feeling. Do you feel healthy, do you feel energized, do you have peace? I see smiling faces when I look at the people who are still going. I watch them dive into their hobbies head-on, sometimes everyday. What is it like to move away from all the things we consider to be stressful in our personal lives—to tune out all the loud noise? And does it affect the way that we look because our frowns are no more? Only laugh lines.

Is that the secret? Does old not even really exist?

So, correction—it’s always me. “Black don’t crack” is in the ig comments and everywhere else. The term simply cannot be missed. It is such a popular topic, but I’ve never heard anyone ask why it doesn’t. However, I am sure many wonder. And so, here we go…

Our team has begun a quest to answer the question that many minds are probably asking. What is it about aging and Black people? Is it the bloodline, is it in the water? We would love to speak on behalf of our community, but wouldn’t a collective be more interesting and informational? We think so too.
